Clever Devices and MAIOR Awarded Major Contract With SPTrans to Enhance São Paulo’s Transit System

Woodbury, NY  — Clever Devices do Brasil and MAIOR, both wholly owned subsidiaries of Clever Devices, are thrilled to announce that they have been selected by SPTrans to implement a comprehensive suite of cloud-based Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and planning and scheduling solutions that will improve urban mobility in the city of São Paulo, Brazil.  

São Paulo boasts one of the largest surface transit systems globally, with a fleet of 14,000 buses operated by 28 distinct bus operators. This expansive network requires robust and reliable technology solutions to effectively manage its scale and complexity.  

Under this new partnership, Clever Devices will provide its cutting-edge technologies, including Computer-Aided Dispatch/Automatic Vehicle Location (CAD/AVL), real-time passenger information, vehicle health monitoring, data analytics, and MAIOR planning and scheduling solutions. These tools are designed to optimize operational efficiencies, enhance passenger experience, and support fleet maintenance while helping SPTrans measure the compliance of its public transportation concessionaires with key performance indicators. 

MAIOR will provide its best-in-class operations planning solutions tailored to meet the demands of large agencies like SPTrans. Designed to optimize and manage complex public transport services, the MAIOR Suite streamlines the entire operations planning process, from creating reliable timetables to optimizing vehicle and driver schedules. This robust software will help enhance SPTrans’ service planning reliability, ensuring that São Paulo’s vast transit network operates efficiently. The MAIOR Suite also supports service accountability and performance monitoring, enabling continuous improvement in service quality.
